Managing and archiving research data is of growing concern for researchers as many funding agencies, academic journals, and other stakeholders are requiring researchers to manage and share their data. The importance of data management was well-articulated in a 2013 Office of Science and Technology Policy memo, which stated that all federal agencies must have policies in place to increase access to digital research data. Planning for research data management is not only good practice, but also it is a requirement for much of funded research.
